PHOTOS: Development at Budapest Airport concerning baggage reclaim completed
The first phase of the expansion of the baggage reclaim hall in Terminal 2A has been completed. Thus, flights from Schengen countries are again arriving at Terminal 2A.
As a result of the development, two new, enlarged baggage carousels are available in an area 520 square meters larger than before, which will reduce waiting times for arriving passengers and make baggage reclaim faster and more convenient. In addition to the increased capacity, the area has also undergone a complete refurbishment, with new flooring, ceilings and lighting, as well as new retail counters, Budapest Airport wrote.
Budapest Airport also refurbished the baggage reclaim area at Terminal 2B in 2019. Thus, increased capacity will now be available at both terminals during the summer peak period. The airport operator will start the second phase of the current investment after the summer months, which will also include the installation of new baggage carousels. Budapest Airport will spend 1.82 billion HUF in total on the current development and the overall refurbishment of the baggage reclaim area at Terminal 2A.
